The article: Design an Office that People Want to Come Back to by Andrea Vanecko, Jonathan Ward, and Robert Mankin at the Harvard Business Review
What I think: The first point – for me – is the most critical. Ask people what they want and need. Observe what they actually do and use things for. Consider what people really value. A coffee machine doesn’t add much value if everyone gets coffee from the cafe down the road. Open plan… don’t get me started!! Many, many people have now realised they don’t like open plan. Fortunately, Covid has given a lot of people space for critical reflection about how they really feel about the standard office.
